Technical Requirements
To benefit from Jouno for Mac, you will need:
- A real, working Roland Juno-106
- A pair of MIDI Cables
- A decent audio (or midi) interface, that connects to your Mac
Jouno.app is not a virtual instrument.
Preview Sounds w. MIDI Keyboard
Preview sounds while editing, using your computer keyboard as a MIDI controller. Make sure that the Computer MIDI Keyboard option is turned on. Then at any moment, while the main window is in focus, press:

ASDFGHJKLplay white notes. - Flats are located on the row above.
- Keys
Z/Xmove down / up one octave.
Remote Control / Automate via MIDI CC
Jouno allows you to control faders from an external hardware MIDI Controller, or by sending CC messages from your DAW of choice.
Map to a MIDI Controller
- Ctrl + Click one of the faders and select "Link to Controller…"
- Alternatively, go to
MIDImenu, thenRemote Control Settings… - If "Move control to assign" is enabled, just start moving the control to have its CC number assigned, and click OK to accept the binding.
- To clear the binding, perform the same operation and click "Delete"
Send MIDI Notes and CC events from Ableton Live
1. Configure a New Track
- In Ableton Live, insert a new MIDI Track
- Select Jouno App as the track's destination
2. Assign the Envelope
- Navigate to the clip's
Envelopessection - Select "MIDI Ctrl" and a number of your choosing (here CC No 20)
- Draw the desired envelope (right-click to get stock shapes)
- In Jouno, perform the steps from the previous section, matching the appropriate CC Number (here 20)

You should now see the fader animate as it plays in Ableton Live.
Recover My License
Jouno is distributed and sold on two different platforms: Paddle (via this website), and the Mac App Store. Please note that depending on what platform you purchased on, the licensing system will be different.
If you purchased from us via Paddle:
- Launch Jouno.app
- Select “Jouno” menu, then “Retrieve License”
- Follow the given instructions
If you purchased from the Mac App Store:
- Go to your Applications folder, and delete Jouno.app if present
- Open the Mac App Store
- Sign-in to your account
- Look for the app under the “Mac Apps” section
- Click
Install
Share crash reports
- Open Console.app, located under Applications Utilities Console.app
- Find the section called “User Diagnostic Reports”
- Click the preceding triangle to disclose the list
- Select the .crash files whose name begin with “106 Editor”
- Email the files as attachments using the link below
